Affirmative Alternatives is a professional counseling firm providing Executive Coaching and Clinical Counseling Services. Founded in 1982 by Lois E. Koufman, M.Ed., LPC, the company has provided executive coaching services for managers and executives of a broad spectrum of commercial sectors: Fortune 500, Information Technology, Banking and Finance, Telecommunications, Government, Consumer Products and Textiles.
In addition to advising numerous executives to improve their performance, Affirmative Alternatives has provided exemplary clinical counseling services, using modern hypnotic techniques, for a variety of personal issues. Highly professional use of these techniques has allowed Affirmative Alternatives to compile a success rate of 75% for Smoking Cessation.
Similar successes have been realized for Weight Loss and Anxiety and Stress counseling.
About The Principal
In addition to successfully operating Affirmative Alternatives since 1982, Lois has served as an Adjunct Faculty Member of the Center For Creative Leadership since 1989. Her certifications include:
- Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) by the North Carolina Board of Licensed Professional Counselors (NCBLPC)
- Certified Practitioner of Critical Incident Stress Debriefing
- Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)
In addition to being a past board member for the North Carolina Society for Clinical Hypnosis, she also has served as the president and a board member of her local Toastmasters International chapter.
Lois holds a B.A. from Brandeis University and an M.Ed. in clinical counseling from Wake Forest University.
